About the role

Reporting to the National Sales & Distribution Manager for Assetline Capital, this role is responsible for leading the Queensland BDM team to deliver on revenue targets and grow market share in this region. Specifically, you will be responsible for:

• Growing and nurturing allocated panel of brokers with a view of engaging them to transact with us.

• Achieving individual sales individual target.

• Managing and guiding the BDM team to achieve their individual results, including assisting with BDM call plans.

• Achieving total new business application volume targets

• Achieving P&L growth in the state.

• Conducting individual Broker visits and record the meetings using the corporate systems provided.

• Conducting joint visits with BDMs to coach and provide feedback for better outcomes at broker meetings.

• Monthly feedback to all BDMs with a pulse check document.

• Team satisfaction and morale as evidenced by feedback from internal Mortgage support teams.

What you’ll do

• Manage and mentor Business Development Managers

• Actively meet and promote the business in the market with Aggregators and broker partners.

• Provide technical product support and scenario advice to Brokers to assist with conversion improvement, product knowledge and selling skills.

• Develop strong working relationships with internal stakeholders.

• Assist, develop, implement, and execute annual sales plan for VIC Business and individual Business Development Managers

• Provide input on competitor activity, products and market feedback.

• Actively participate in developing the strategic direction of the Business

• Provide constructive input and solutions for improving business practices.

• Commitment to a culture of policy compliance & high ethical standards

What you’ll bring to the team

• Proven business development skills with an ability and “hunter mentality” to aggressively seek out new business opportunities from the Broker market

• Good understanding of current mortgage legislation

• Technologically competent non-banking lending activities, credit principles, financial literacy and Microsoft office suite

• Understanding of, and focus on, drivers of conversion rates and settlements.

• Strong leadership and management skills with the ability to motivate sales staff.

• Track record of coaching and mentoring sales staff to achieve targets

• Extensive BDM experience in the non-bank lending space, with good knowledge of the broker/intermediary market

• Ability to perform to a high standard under pressure.

• Superior communication and presentation skills
