About the Role
We’re currently recruiting for two OOHC Manager positions within our Client Services team:
- Providing leadership and operational oversight across our Out of Home Care services and Supported Family Group Home across our SFGH program.
These positions report to a Regional Manager and are responsible for leading a team. The OOHC program will manage a team of Team Leaders to ensure our homes are safe, appropriately staffed, compliant and delivering high-quality support. The SFGH program will focus on carer attraction, assessment, training, retention and support, alongside the continued development of the SFGH program.
Key Responsibilities:
- Coach, guide and develop Team Leaders to deliver high-quality, client-focused services.
- Support Team Leaders with staffing, rosters, labour budgets and workforce planning.
- Manage and support the resolution of incidents and escalations.
- Work collaboratively with Case Management, Therapeutic Specialists and other teams to manage client risk and support positive outcomes.
- Conduct regular service audits and reviews and drive continuous improvement.
- Build productive relationships with government, community organisations and other key stakeholders.
- Contribute to the recruitment, development, assessment, training and ongoing support of SFGH carers.
- Support carer retention and wellbeing and help build a strong local carer community.
- Assist with the matching and placement of young people with carers and support staff.
- Ensure carer assessments, reviews, records and registers meet organisational and regulatory requirements.
- Participate in Burdekin’s after-hours on-call service as required.
Essential Requirements:
- A degree in Social Work or another relevant tertiary qualification, or a Diploma with a minimum of four years experience in the community services sector.
- Experience leading a team in child protection, out-of-home care, or a similar environment.
- Strong understanding of child welfare legislation and out-of-home care.
- Case Management experience highly valued.
- Valid WWCC and NPC or willing to obtain.
- Current Driver’s Licence and access to vehicle with comprehensive insurance.
- Willing to participate in the after-hours on-call roster.
