The role

We are seeking a highly organised, detailed oriented Accounts and Payroll Officer to join our Finance team. The role is responsible for delivering accurate accounts payable and receivable and managing an outsourced Payroll in the community services sector.

Key responsibilities

• Accounts payable and receivable processing.
• Interpret and apply the SCHADS Award provisions to payroll processing.
• Manage outsourced payroll for circa 200 employees of primarily 24/7 rosters.
• Interpret and apply SCHADs award.
• Ensure compliance with relevant payroll legislation.
• Respond to payroll enquiries from employees.
• Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations.
• Undertake bank reconciliations, transactions, journals and adjustments.
• Maintain accurate financial records and prepare financial reports as needed.

To be successful in this role, you will have:

• Previous experience in a Payroll position, preferable working with SCHADs Award.
• Experience using payroll systems (e.g. Paycat, Employment Hero/KeyPay) to manage employee data and process payroll.
• Experience using Payroll systems (Paycat, Employment Hero/Key Pay or similar highly regarded).
• Excellent attention to detail and ability to process high volumes of data.
• Strong problem solving, organisational and communication skills.
• Intermediate to advanced Excel skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

You’ll stand out if you also have

• Experience in the Disability, Community Services or Not-for-Profit sector.
• Familiarity with accounting software for accounts payable and receivable processing.
• Experience in broader Finance processes.
• A genuine interest in Payroll and Accounts and improving processes.
