Pay Rate

Description

This role offers you  the opportunity to support children and families through high-quality occupational therapy within a multidisciplinary service that has been supporting our community for more than 25 years.

For more than 25 years, Best Start Possible (formerly Brandon Speech Pathology) has supported children and families in our community through high-quality paediatric allied health services.

Over the past year, Able Therapy has become part of BSP, bringing an established adult occupational therapy service into the organisation and strengthening our multidisciplinary services.

We are seeking an Occupational Therapist with at least one year of paediatric experience to help expand our paediatric OT service and support the growing number of BSP families seeking multidisciplinary care, working alongside our experienced OT Service Leader (20+ years) within a supportive multidisciplinary team.

This role is particularly well-suited to clinicians who want to deepen their paediatric practice while continuing to develop their clinical reasoning within a supportive and experienced team.

While the role has a paediatric focus, there is also the option to support a mixed caseload, allowing clinicians to build variety in their practice and develop a broader clinical scope over time.

The Role

This role aims to support the large number of existing BSP clients waiting to access multidisciplinary services, with a clear focus on providing high-quality occupational therapy that integrates effectively with our established paediatric speech pathology team by:

  • Delivering evidence-based occupational therapy to address children’s functional, sensory, emotional, and learning goals.

  • Providing services in clinic, home, school or childcare, and community settings

  • Collaborating with parents, carers, educators, and a multidisciplinary team to achieve meaningful outcomes.

Mixed Caseload Option (Optional)

With a mixed caseload, you will combine paediatric OT with adult OT, working with four therapists supporting adult clients in NDIS, DVA, and aged care.

Adult OT includes community and home-based support, assessments, equipment recommendations, and daily living interventions.

The balance between paediatric and adult clients can be adjusted to align with your interests and professional goals.

Multidisciplinary Practice at BSP

Multidisciplinary care is central to our approach at BSP. You will join a team of 18 clinicians across Occupational Therapy, Speech Pathology, and Allied Health Assistants.

  • Engage in collaborative case planning to align goals and provide consistent support to families and stakeholders.

  • Participate in regular clinical tutorials and shared learning to strengthen evidence-based practice across the team.

  • Work within a coordinated team across clinic and community settings, supported by clear communication and strong administrative support

Occupational Therapy at BSP (Able Therapy)

Occupational Therapy at BSP brings together our long-standing paediatric allied health service and the established adult OT service previously operating as Able Therapy, which joined BSP over the past year.

The service is led by an OT Service Leader with more than 20 years of experience, providing clear clinical direction, structured supervision, and mentorship across both paediatric and adult practice.

Clinicians work within a supportive team environment delivering high-quality OT services to children, families, and adult clients across clinic and community settings.

What We Offer

  • A trusted paediatric allied health provider with over 25 years of history supporting our community

  • A supportive multidisciplinary team across OT, Speech Pathology, and AHAs

  • Structured clinical supervision and mentoring from experienced clinicians

  • professional development plan and clear career pathways

  • structured caseload with flexibility to focus on paediatric or mixed clients

About You

  • Degree in Occupational Therapy and current AHPRA registration

  • 1+ years’ experience working with paediatric clients

  • Strong interest in paediatric and family-centred practice

  • Confident communicator who builds trust with families and stakeholders
