Primary Class Director (6–12 Montessori Primary Cycle) 

Employment Type: Full Time (Permanent)  Commencement: Semester 2, 2026 

Location: Brisbane Montessori School, Fig Tree Pocket, Brisbane, Queensland  Hours: Monday to Friday, 32.5 hours per week  Salary: $96,400 – $122,958 per annum (dependent on qualifications and experience)

About the Role 

As a Montessori Primary Class Director, you will create a dynamic, engaging classroom where students are empowered to take ownership of their learning while being supported to reach their full potential. 

Your responsibilities will include: 

  • Creating a safe, inclusive and positive learning environment empowering every student to thrive.  
  • Guiding student inquiry, facilitating discussion, and supporting independent learning. 
  • Building strong partnerships with families through regular communication about student progress. 
  • Actively, positively and collaboratively contributing to curriculum development and the continuous improvement of teaching and learning.  
  • A commitment to your journey as a life-long learner through professional learning, staff meetings and school events.  
  • Supporting the broader life of the school through excursions, camps, concerts, sporting events and other co-curricular activities. 

 

About You 

You are a reflective educator who values collaboration, builds meaningful relationships, and is committed to helping every child flourish. 

You’ll bring: 

  • A recognised and reputable Montessori Diploma (Ages 6–12).  
  • A Bachelor of Education (or higher), or significant classroom teaching experience.  
  • Current Queensland College of Teachers (QCT) registration (or ability/willingness to obtain) 
  • A genuine commitment to Montessori philosophy and child-centred education.  
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with students, families and colleagues.  
  • A commitment to reflective practice, continuous professional learning and collaborative teamwork.  
  • A current First Aid and CPR Certificate (or willingness to obtain prior to commencement).  
  • A current Blue Card Exemption (or willingness to obtain prior to commencement).
