About the Role

Brisbane Montessori School (BMS) at Fig Tree Pocket invites applications from QCT-registered Teachers. We warmly welcome dynamic and engaging teachers with a positive demeanour, a flexible approach, Montessori training, or a willingness to embrace the Montessori Philosophy. Applicants should also hold a Positive Notice Blue card and have current First Aid (HLTAID012) and CPR (HLTAID009) qualifications. This is an excellent opportunity for an enthusiastic and responsible teacher to join our outstanding team and play an important role in an authentic Montessori community.

We have two different precincts available:

1. Children’s House Teachers (3 – 6 year olds). Successful applicants will have the following:

  • QCT Registration
  • Bachelor of Early Childhood OR Bachelor of Education, plus Certificate III in Children’s Services or Early Childhood Education and Care/ or EQUIVALENT
  • Qualifications and experience in Montessori Primary education are advantageous.

2. Primary Teachers (6 – 12 year olds). Successful applicants will have the following:

  • QCT Registration
  • Bachelor of Education
  • Qualifications and experience in Montessori Primary education are advantageous.

Applications should be directed to the Principal and should encompass the following:

• Up-to-date resume

• A written response (maximum 2 pages) on how your experience, abilities, knowledge and personal qualities would enable you to achieve the key responsibilities of the role

• At least two confidential referee direct line managers’ contact details. One MUST be a current direct line manager.

Nestled in the leafy grounds of Fig Tree Pocket, wrapped by Brisbane River, Brisbane Montessori School began its journey in 1984 with just five children, one dedicated volunteer teacher, and a humble veranda as their first classroom.
