About the Role

Boss Energy is seeking a Junior Geologist to join our geology team and contribute to the ongoing development of in-situ recovery mining and the establishment of wellfield infrastructure at Honeymoon. Reporting directly to the Mine Geologist, this is an exciting opportunity for a motivated early-career geologist to build hands-on technical capability in a developing mine environment.

The role offers broad exposure across drilling, logging, geological modelling, well installation planning, production reconciliation and geological data management, with the opportunity to work closely with experienced professionals across the mine geology and exploration teams. You will also gain exposure to broader geological activities across the business, building practical experience in a small, supportive team.

Key Responsibilities

  • Demonstrate a strong commitment to safety, environmental, heritage and compliance standards
  • Manage drill rig and wireline logging activities
  • Support and coordinate field staff during drilling and wellfield programs
  • Log geological samples and assist with XRF sampling activities
  • Collate, interpret and maintain downhole geophysical logs
  • Assist with the development of 3D ore and geological models in Micromine
  • Support the planning and management of leaching well installation
  • Contribute to production reconciliation and technical reporting
  • Maintain accurate geological data within Geobank
  • Create maps and spatial outputs using QGIS
  • Liaise with the exploration team to support geological interpretation, data sharing and broader technical activities
  • Work effectively within small teams in remote locations

Skills & Experience

  • Valid Australian driver’s licence
  • Bachelor’s degree in Geology or Geoscience
  • Flexibility to travel on roster to site
  • Self-motivated, proactive and eager to learn
  • Ability to work independently while contributing positively within a small team
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Experience with sedimentary basins would be advantageous
  • Exposure to geological software such as Micromine, Geobank and QGIS would be highly regarded
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to maintaining accurate geological data
  • Ability to pass a pre-employment medical and national police check

The role is based at our Honeymoon site and offered as FIFO from Adelaide (only) and works an 8/6 roster.
