Description

Join one of Australia’s fastest growing hospitality technology companies.

Bopple is a fast-growing hospitality technology platform helping ambitious hospitality brands and businesses scale service, make data-informed decisions, and create exceptional customer experiences.

We work with thousands of hospitality venues across Australia, New Zealand and beyond, helping them launch, grow and optimise their ordering, loyalty, engagement and payments platforms.

There is a massive opportunity in front of us. We’re building an exciting, meaningful and lasting business, helping ambitious hospitality businesses around the world do the same.

We’re moving fast and the landscape is changing every day — this is where you come in.

The Role

Behind every high-growth technology company is a finance team that provides the insight, structure and commercial discipline to support smart decision making.

We’re looking for a motivated Undergraduate Accountant to join our Brisbane team on a part-time basis.

This is an outstanding opportunity for an accounting student or early-career accountant who wants far more than a traditional bookkeeping role. You’ll work directly with our CFO and alongside our founders, gaining exposure to the commercial, strategic and operational side of scaling a technology business.

You’ll be involved in everything from day-to-day financial operations through to budgeting, reporting, system improvements and business analysis, giving you the opportunity to develop practical skills well beyond those typically available in an undergraduate role.

No two weeks look the same. One day you may be preparing month-end workpapers and reconciling accounts, the next you could be assisting with board reporting, analysing business performance, improving finance processes or helping implement new systems and automation.

If you’re looking for a role where you’ll learn quickly, be challenged and build an exceptional foundation for your accounting career, we’d love to hear from you.

What you’ll be doing

Working closely with the CFO, you’ll assist across a broad range of finance activities including:

  • Maintaining accurate financial records and general ledger accounts
  • Processing supplier invoices, payments and receipts
  • Performing bank, balance sheet and general ledger reconciliations
  • Assisting with month-end close and preparation of management reports
  • Supporting budgeting, forecasting and financial analysis
  • Assisting with payroll processing and employee expense reimbursements
  • Preparing workpapers and supporting tax compliance, including BAS, Payroll Tax and other statutory reporting
  • Maintaining accounting records and supporting external advisers and auditors
  • Helping improve finance systems, workflows and automation across the business
  • Supporting ad-hoc commercial and strategic projects as the business continues to grow

You’ll fit right in if you…

  • Love solving problems and making sense of numbers
  • Are naturally organised and highly detail-oriented
  • Take pride in producing accurate, high-quality work
  • Enjoy learning new technology and finding smarter ways to work
  • Are curious about how businesses operate, not just how the numbers work
  • Have strong communication skills and enjoy working with people across the business
  • Want to build a career in commercial finance rather than simply processing transactions
  • Have an interest in hospitality, technology or high-growth businesses

What we’re looking for

You don’t need to tick every box, but ideally you’re:

  • Currently studying a Bachelor of Accounting, Commerce or Business (or recently graduated)
  • Looking for a flexible part-time role that complements your studies
  • Familiar with accounting principles and financial reporting
  • Experienced with, or willing to learn, cloud accounting systems such as Xero, Hubdoc and BGL Workpapers
  • Comfortable using Microsoft Excel and other business technology
  • Able to manage your own workload while working collaboratively within a team
  • Passionate about building your career in accounting and finance

Previous bookkeeping, administration or finance experience is highly regarded but not essential.

Why join our team

This is more than a bookkeeping position. You’ll receive mentoring directly from an experienced CFO with over 30 years’ experience in accounting, tax, finance and business strategy, while working alongside experienced founders who are scaling one of Australia’s most exciting hospitality technology businesses.

You’ll gain practical exposure to:

  • Commercial finance
  • Financial reporting
  • Budgeting and forecasting
  • Business strategy
  • Process improvement
  • Finance systems and automation
  • High-growth technology businesses
  • Working directly with executive leadership

This is an ideal opportunity for someone looking to accelerate their career while completing their studies.

Who we hire

We hire talented and tenacious thinkers and tinkers — builders with founder-like energy who want real impact, accelerated learning and true ownership.

You’re curious. You ask questions. You enjoy solving problems rather than simply following process.

You embrace AI, automation and technology to work smarter, improve efficiency and create better outcomes.

You’ll work alongside exceptionally talented teammates who care deeply about what they do, giving you the opportunity to grow your career while helping build the future of hospitality technology.

If you’re looking for more than just another accounting job, we’d love to hear from you.
