Charlotte Pass Snow Resort is seeking a motivated Resort Mechanic to join our Engineering Team in one of Australia’s most unique working environments.  

This is an exciting opportunity for a newly qualified mechanic or final year apprentice to combine technical expertise with a genuine alpine lifestyle. Working across our vehicle fleet, over snow transport fleet, mobile plant, mechanical equipment and resort infrastructure, you’ll play a critical role in keeping the resort operating safely and efficiently throughout the year.  

Whether you bring experience from automotive, heavy vehicle, mining, construction, agricultural or industrial maintenance environments, this role offers diverse and rewarding work in a spectacular mountain setting unlike any other.  

About the Role 

Reporting to the Head Mechanic, you will be responsible for:  

• Preventative maintenance, inspection, diagnosis and repair of resort fleet vehicles and mechanical equipment.  
• Maintenance of over snow transport vehicles, snowmobiles, utilities, light vehicles, heavy vehicles and associated mobile plant.  
• Mechanical fault-finding and troubleshooting of mechanical, hydraulic and drive systems.  
• Responding to vehicle breakdowns and maintenance callouts across the resort.  
• Supporting preventative maintenance programs and asset reliability initiatives.  
• Assisting with workshop inventory management, spare parts control, and maintenance documentation. 
• Participating in infrastructure projects, annual maintenance programs, and contractor support activities.  
• Supporting winter operations including snow clearing, operational support, and emergency response activities.  

What We’re Looking For 

Essential 

• Certificate III in Automotive Mechanical Technology (Light Vehicle) or equivalent.  
• Certificate III in Heavy Commercial Vehicle Mechanical Technology or equivalent.  
• Current Driver Licence.  
• Minimum three years’ experience in mechanical maintenance and repair.  
• Mechanical fault-finding and diagnostic skills.  
• Ability to work safely in alpine environments and adverse weather conditions.  
• Strong commitment to workplace safety and compliance.  

Highly Regarded 

• Heavy vehicle maintenance experience.  
• Hydraulic systems experience.  
• Fabrication and welding qualifications or demonstrated experience.  
• Rigging qualification.  
• Over snow vehicle maintenance experience.  
• Construction White Card.  
• High Risk Work Licences including Telehandler or Forklift.
