This is a hands-on Senior Software Engineer (Full Stack) role building the future of how Australians invest. You’ll build and evolve the customer-facing products that help people move money, invest, and genuinely understand how their investments are performing. What you build is experienced every day by our customers and the quality of your work is directly visible to customers. 

You will solve problems across a broad product suite including money movement, investing, automated and AI-native investment journeys, private assets, portfolio tools, reporting, and multiple account types.  

You will work closely with product, design, engineers and the wider Product Engineering function. You will solve meaningful problems across Vue, Rust, Node.js, GraphQL and a range of modern data stores, while sharing context, contributing to cross-cutting engineering decisions and helping improve the quality, reliability and scalability of the products you build and maintain. 

Role Responsibilities  

• Own the end-to-end delivery of significant full-stack features and technical outcomes across investment, payments, portfolio, and reporting products. 
• Design, build, test and maintain reliable software across Vue, Rust, Node.js, GraphQL and a range of modern data stores. 
• Contribute to technical design and solution decisions, balancing customer outcomes, maintainability, performance, security and delivery needs. 
• Collaborate closely with product, engineers and the wider Product Engineering function to turn complex customer and business problems into pragmatic technical solutions, aligning on approaches where products, platforms or dependencies intersect. 
• Take ownership of complex engineering problems across customer journeys, including investigation, troubleshooting and resolution of production issues. 
• Actively adopt and champion AI-assisted engineering practices to improve development throughput, quality and effectiveness, while sharing learnings and helping evolve how products are delivered. 
• Contribute to strong engineering practices across code quality, automated testing, observability, secure development and operational reliability. 
• Review code and technical designs, sharing constructive feedback and helping less experienced engineers develop their capability. 
• Identify opportunities to improve the scalability, reliability and maintainability of the products and systems you work on. 

Key skills and experience  

Must-haves 

• Strong experience delivering production software as a senior full-stack engineer, with ownership across design, implementation, testing and support. 
• Strong engineering capability across frontend, backend and APIs, with the ability to make sound technical decisions across the full delivery lifecycle. 
• Experience designing and building services that work with production databases and data stores, with a focus on reliable data access, integrity and performance. 
• Strong software engineering fundamentals, including maintainable design, automated testing, code review, observability, reliability and secure development practices. 
• Demonstrated ability to solve complex technical problems, work through ambiguity and collaborate effectively across product and the wider Product Engineering function. 
• A proactive approach to AI-enabled software development, with a willingness to experiment with and adopt tools and practices that improve engineering productivity and outcomes. 

Nice-to-haves 

• Production experience with technologies relevant to our environment, such as Vue, Rust, Node.js, GraphQL and modern database or data-store technologies. 
• Experience building products within investing, wealth management, payments, brokerage or another regulated financial-services environment, particularly across transaction, portfolio or reporting journeys.
