Description
Live local. Work flexibly. Make a difference where the work happens. With an amazing team and business
Bennco Group is looking for two experienced HSE Advisors who call the Pilbara home: one based in Tom Price with our Inland division and one based in Karratha with our Coastal division.
These are residential roles with flexible, part-time hours. No fly-in fly-out, no swing away from family. If you live in Tom Price or Karratha and want meaningful safety work that fits around your life, we would like to hear from you.
About Bennco Group
Bennco Group is a multidisciplinary building and construction contractor supporting Tier 1 clients across the Pilbara and wider WA. From our beginnings in Tom Price, we have grown into a trusted provider of high-quality building, plumbing and electrical work across regional WA.
We are a values-led business. Pride & Commitment, Growth & Improvement, Family & Loyalty and Trust & Respect are how we work with each other, our clients and our communities, and they are how we choose our people.
About the role
You will be the on-the-ground safety partner for your division, supporting recently awarded construction works and ongoing projects. As part of our HSE team, you will spend your time in the field with our leaders, our crews and subcontractors, helping them plan and do the work safely and meet client, regulatory and Bennco standards.
What you will do
- Coach and support site teams every day, building a strong safety culture with a “fix the work” mindset.
- Carry out site risk assessments, Level 2 Risk Assessments, JHA and SWMS reviews and in-field observations.
- Inspect and audit work areas, plant, equipment and subcontractors, and support client audits.
- Support incident investigations using 5 why’s, ICAM or similar, and follow corrective actions through to close-out.
- Monitor environmental compliance, including waste, emissions, spills and land disturbance.
- Deliver toolbox talks, inductions and targeted safety campaigns, and verify competencies and VOCs.
- Record hazards, incidents and inspections, report daily, weekly and monthly, and recommend improvements from the trends you see.
- Help develop and practise emergency response procedures and take part in drills.
Who we are looking for
Tickets and experience get you an interview. Our values get you the role. We are looking for advisors who live them on site and in their community.
Pride & Commitment. You own your work and get the job done. You are visible in the field, hold a high standard and see every action through to close-out. You wear the Bennco Group shirt with pride.
Growth & Improvement. You are curious about why things go wrong and focus on fixing the work, not blaming the person. You coach others and keep looking for a simpler, better way.
Family & Loyalty. You care about people getting home safe to those who matter to them. You are part of your local community, look out for your crew and help create a welcoming team.
Trust & Respect. You communicate openly and honour your commitments. You can influence frontline teams, give honest feedback and hold a firm line while keeping people with you.
You will also be resilient, calm under pressure, organised and comfortable in a hot, remote, high-activity construction environment.
What you will need
- At least 3 years’ experience as an HSE Advisor in mining, construction, civil works or resources projects.
- Certificate IV in WHS (minimum).
- Construction white card and C class driver’s licence.
- First Aid (HLTAID011) and Mental Health First Aid.
- Rio Tinto Essentials for Site and Lockholder training (Aveling).
- Fire training (Aveling).
- Ability to pass a pre-employment medical and drug and alcohol testing.
- A national police clearance (full disclosure).
- To live in, or be relocating to, Tom Price or Karratha.
Highly regarded
- ICAM Lead Investigator certification.
- Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (TAE40116).
Why join us
