The Role
As our Assistant Front Office Manager, you’ll assist in leading and overseing all aspects of our Front Office operations, ensuring seamless guest arrivals, departures, and accommodation services. You’ll manage and inspire a dedicated team, fostering a culture of excellence, while collaborating with other departments to ensure a smooth and memorable guest experience.
This is an exciting opportunity to implement a brand-new Property Management System (PMS) that will transform our operations. During your role, you will:
- Lead the Front Office team to ensure outstanding service and operational efficiency, creating a welcoming atmosphere for every guest.
- Motivate and train a passionate team, fostering an environment of accountability, teamwork, and continuous improvement.
- Drive operational excellence by optimising daily Front Office functions, from reservations to guest services.
- Work closely with Housekeeping and Maintenance to ensure a seamless experience for guests, from room readiness to service delivery.
- Implement strategies to enhance guest satisfaction, identify operational improvements, and drive revenue growth.
- Promote and upsell the full Balgownie Estate experience, including our accommodation, cellar door, restaurant, spa, and event facilities.
- Ensure all team members follow company procedures, maintaining the highest standards of service delivery and compliance with health, safety, and liquor regulations.

About You
To thrive in this role, you will:
- Have proven experience in Front Office, Guest Relations, or Hotel Management, ideally within a high-end hospitality environment.
- Possess strong leadership, communication, and organisational skills.
- Be a natural problem-solver, able to address guest concerns with a solution-oriented mindset.
- Be passionate about providing exceptional guest experiences and fostering a positive team culture.
- Have knowledge of property management systems (PMS), reservation software, and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Hold a current Responsible Service of Alcohol (RSA) certification and valid Food Safety certificate.
- Be flexible, with availability to work evenings, weekends, and public holidays.
- Have reliable transport to and from Yarra Valley.
