About the Role
Huka Lodge is seeking an experienced Restaurant Manager to lead our Food & Beverage team and deliver a relaxed yet refined dining experience for our guests. Set on the banks of the Waikato River, this is an opportunity to be part of one of the world’s most celebrated luxury lodges.
You will oversee daily restaurant operations while guiding guests through an exceptional dining journey, pairing outstanding cuisine with carefully selected wines. Working closely with the Lodge Manager and Executive Chef, you will also contribute to menu development and wine pairings.
- Leading and developing the Food & Beverage team to deliver exceptional service
- Creating a warm, engaging dining experience for guests
- Managing restaurant operations, including rostering and payroll
- Monitoring labour and operating costs in line with budgets
- Sharing your knowledge of New Zealand wines and enhancing the guest experience
- Collaborating with the Executive Chef and leadership team to ensure seamless service
About You
You are a passionate hospitality professional with strong leadership skills and a genuine love for food, wine and guest experience. You thrive in a high-end environment and enjoy developing teams to perform at their best.
- Minimum 3 years’ experience in restaurant management, ideally in luxury hospitality
- Strong knowledge of New Zealand wines
- Experience in team leadership, training and development
- Sound financial and payroll management skills
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to engage with both guests and team members
- A passion for delivering high-quality, memorable dining experiences
