Senior Accountant – Business Services & Advisory

ASTUTEMED is a specialist accounting, taxation and business advisory firm working with medical, dental and healthcare professionals across Australia. We are seeking a Senior Accountant to join our growing team in South Brisbane. Working closely with the Directors, you will manage client engagements, deliver quality accounting and taxation services, and gain exposure to a range of business advisory matters.

Responsibilities

• Manage client relationships and accounting engagements.
• Prepare and review financial statements, income tax returns and BAS.
• Assist with tax planning, business structuring and advisory matters.
• Review and mentor junior accountants.
• Support business valuations, acquisitions and restructures.
• Ensure timely completion of work and maintain high client service standards.

Qualifications & Experience

We are looking for someone with strong accounting and taxation skills who takes initiative and is ready for greater responsibility. You will enjoy working with clients, being part of a team and broadening your professional experience.

Ideally, you will have:

• Around 5 years’ experience in Australian public practice.
• Strong accounting and taxation knowledge.
• Confidence in managing client work independently.
• Experience reviewing and supporting junior accountants.
• Good communication and organisational skills.
• Proficiency in Xero accounting software.

Desirable:

• CA or CPA qualification, or working towards completion
• SMSF accounting and taxation experience.
• Exposure to client management, tax planning or business advisory.
