As an Animal Attendant at our charity organisation in Kemps Creek, you will play a vital role in the care and welfare of animals in need. This permanent, full-time position is essential for ensuring that our animals receive the attention, love, and support they require while awaiting their forever homes. Your dedication will contribute significantly to our mission of promoting animal welfare and finding loving families for our furry friends.

Responsibilities:

• Provide daily care for animals, including feeding, grooming, and exercising them.
• Maintain cleanliness and hygiene in animal enclosures and surrounding areas.
• Monitor the health and behaviour of animals, reporting any concerns to the veterinary team.
• Assist in the socialisation and training of animals to prepare them for adoption.
• Engage with potential adopters, providing information and support to help them find the right pet.
• Participate in fundraising and community outreach events to promote the organisation’s mission.
• Collaborate with team members to ensure a safe and positive environment for both animals and staff.

Qualifications:

• Previous experience working with animals, preferably in a shelter or rescue environment.
• Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate effectively with the public.
• A genuine passion for animal welfare and a commitment to the organisation’s mission.
• Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
• Physical stamina to handle the demands of the role, including lifting and moving animals.
• Basic knowledge of animal behaviour and care practices.
