Graduate Engineer

Start Your Engineering Career with Alliance Automation

Your first engineering role should give you more than a job. It should give you the opportunity to learn, solve real problems, work with experienced engineers and build the foundations for a great career.

At Alliance Automation, our Graduate Engineers work alongside experienced technical teams delivering engineering solutions across some of Australia’s most important industrial environments.

For this opportunity, we’re looking for an Electrical Engineering graduate to join our Brisbane office, where you’ll gain practical experience across real engineering projects and develop your technical capability working alongside experienced engineers and specialists.

Our values of Care, Collaboration, Integrity, Impact and Curiosity shape how we work, how we support each other and the engineers we want to develop.

The Opportunity

We’re looking for a talented and motivated Graduate Engineer with an Electrical Engineering background to join our Brisbane team.

This is an opportunity to take what you’ve learned at university and apply it to real engineering challenges.

Working alongside experienced engineers, you’ll contribute to projects from design and development through to testing, commissioning and delivery. You’ll gain exposure to industrial electrical systems, equipment and technologies, while also working as part of multidisciplinary teams across our broader engineering capability.

We don’t expect you to know everything when you arrive. We’re looking for someone with the right foundations, a genuine interest in electrical engineering and technology, and the curiosity to keep learning.

What You’ll Be Doing

Depending on the projects you’re involved in, you may:

  • Support the design and development of electrical engineering solutions
  • Assist with electrical calculations, drawings, specifications and technical documentation
  • Gain exposure to industrial electrical systems, power distribution, motor control, switchboards and electrical equipment
  • Assist with the preparation and review of electrical drawings, schematics and documentation
  • Participate in testing, commissioning and troubleshooting activities
  • Work alongside experienced engineers and technical specialists
  • Gain hands-on exposure to industrial systems, equipment and technologies
  • Contribute to engineering reviews, workshops and project meetings
  • Work with multidisciplinary teams to solve technical challenges
  • Spend time on client sites and gain practical exposure to operating industrial environments
  • Assist with investigating and resolving engineering and operational issues
  • Develop an understanding of electrical standards, safety, quality and project delivery
  • Build relationships with clients, suppliers and project stakeholders
  • Take on increasing technical responsibility as your skills and confidence develop

Most importantly, you’ll be given the opportunity to do real engineering and learn from experienced people around you.

What We’re Looking For

We’re interested in graduates who are technically curious, motivated to learn and excited about building a career in engineering.

Ideally, you’ll have:

  • Recently completed, or be nearing completion of, a degree in Electrical Engineering
  • A genuine interest in electrical engineering, technology and industrial systems
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • A practical and inquisitive approach to solving problems
  • Good written and verbal communication skills
  • The ability to work collaboratively as part of a team
  • A willingness to ask questions, contribute ideas and learn from others
  • An interest in developing both technical and professional skills
  • A commitment to safety, quality and engineering excellence
  • A willingness to travel to project and client sites when required
  • A current Australian driver’s licence

Above all, we’re looking for people who reflect how we work at Alliance.

People who Care about those around them. Who believe in Collaboration and working together. Who demonstrate Integrity and take ownership of their work. Who want their work to have genuine Impact. And who have the Curiosity to ask questions, challenge thinking and continually look for better ways.
