Community Support Worker (Female)

Allegiance Heart & Home Care is an aged care provider delivering personalised in-home support to older Australians.

We provide a range of Support at Home services including personal care, domestic assistance, social support, community access, transport, allied health, gardening and home maintenance.

Our support workers are an important part of our care team. We are looking for people who are dependable, communicate well, respect client preferences and take pride in providing high-quality support.

About the Role

You will provide ongoing support to an older client who requires assistance with personal care, household activities and maintaining independence at home.

Duties may include:

• Showering and personal care assistance
• Dressing and grooming support
• Supporting safe mobility around the home
• General domestic cleaning
• Vacuuming and mopping
• Bathroom and kitchen cleaning
• Laundry and changing bed linen
• Shopping assistance
• Community access as required
• Maintaining clear and safe household areas
• Providing companionship and respectful social interaction
• Monitoring and reporting changes in the client’s wellbeing
• Completing accurate progress notes after every service

The client has reduced mobility and an increased falls risk, so previous experience supporting older people with mobility limitations is highly regarded.

We are seeking someone who is:

• Caring, patient and respectful
• Reliable and committed to ongoing shifts
• Comfortable providing personal care and shower assistance
• Able to encourage independence rather than taking over tasks unnecessarily
• Confident supporting clients with reduced mobility
• Able to follow a Care Plan and organisational procedures
• A good communicator with strong documentation skills

Preferred Requirements

• Certificate III in Individual Support, Aged Care, Community Services or similar
• Previous aged care or community support experience
• Current National Police Check
• Current First Aid and CPR
• Manual handling knowledge or training
• Current driver’s licence
• Reliable and insured vehicle
• Australian working rights
