About the opportunity

As an Electrical Estimator in our Pre-Contracts team, you’ll build the estimates that will help shape our continued growth across Australia and New Zealand. You’ll turn drawings and tender documents into accurate, competitive pricing and shape how projects are delivered.

If you want variety across HV, solar, wind and BESS pursuits, a clear pathway towards Senior or Lead Estimator, and mentoring from experienced professionals, this is the role.

What you’ll do;

• Prepare detailed electrical estimates and cost build-ups for HV, substation, transmission, distribution and renewable energy tenders.
• Review drawings, single line diagrams, specifications and scopes to build a clear picture of what each project involves.
• Quantify labour, materials, plant and subcontract requirements, and evaluate and level supplier and subcontractor quotes.
• Identify tender risks, opportunities, assumptions and exclusions, escalating significant pricing risks to the Lead Estimator.
• Develop value-engineering options and alternative construction methodologies that make our bids stand out.
• Partner with Engineering, Operations and Bid Managers to test constructability and productivity assumptions and hit bid deadlines.
• Support tender reviews, clarifications, handovers and commercial negotiations.
• Build and maintain our estimating rates, historical cost data and pricing tools to sharpen every future bid.

What You’ll Bring

• Demonstrated electrical estimating experience in construction, utilities, power infrastructure or renewable energy.
• Confidence interpreting electrical drawings, single line diagrams and technical documentation.
• Sound knowledge of electrical construction methodologies, labour productivity and supplier markets.
• Strong analytical skills and advanced Microsoft Excel capability.
• Bonus if you have estimating experience on HV, substation, transmission, distribution, solar, wind or BESS projects.
• It would be great if you also hold an electrical trade, engineering, quantity surveying or related qualification.
