All Energy Contracting (AEC) is a leading multidisciplinary construction contractor specialising in renewables and energy infrastructure projects.  We deliver projects across solar, wind, battery energy storage systems (BESS), high voltage connections, substations, balance of plant and associated civil, electrical and mechanical works.

About the opportunity

Working on a permanent, full-time basis, from our Head Office Hamilton (with monthly site travel), AEC are seeking an experienced Cost Controller to support the commercial performance and commercial success of our projects.

The Cost Controller plays a critical part in ensuring accurate forecasting, cost control, and commercial visibility across projects, supporting informed decision making and strong commercial outcomes.

Working closely with Project Managers, operations team and key stakeholders, you will provide meaningful insights into project performance, identify risks and opportunities, and help drive commercial efficiency across a dynamic project environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain accurate project cost forecasts, budgets, and accruals
• Monitor project cost performance and analyse variances against budget and forecast
• Clearly articulate monthly cost variances, including root causes and cost drivers
• Prepare detailed commercial and cost reports for project teams and leadership
• Identification and management of project risks and opportunities
• Collaborate with operational and delivery team to ensure support on Contracts and Projects
• Provide guidance and support to project teams on cost control processes and best practice
• Managing subcontractors by ensuring appropriate subcontract documentation is produced and issued in line with company procedures and manage accounts in accordance with the subcontract through to final account

What you’ll bring

• Proven experience working in project cost control, forecasting, and accruals
• Extensive experience in a similar Cost Controller role within a large corporate environment
• Experience within the energy, utilities, construction, or infrastructure industry highly regarded
• Commercial acumen with the ability to interpret contracts and commercial impacts
• Strong analytical skills with excellent attention to detail
• Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office Excel.
