The Role

At least 6 casual positions available to join our team, with a potential of PPT for the right applicant. In this role, you will provide person-centred assistance with daily living, implement behaviour support strategies, and maintain accurate documentation. You will work collaboratively with the care team to ensure consistent, high-quality support while fostering a positive, respectful, and empowering environment for participants.

1. Glendale (in-home support)

  • Experience with Manual Handling (specifically full ceiling hoist lifter)
  • Experience supporting individuals with an acquired brain injury

2. Dora Creek (in-home SIL environment)

  • Experience with Neurological disorders, seizure management and complex high care needs

3. Raymond Terrace (SIL)

  • Experience with aged care and/or dementia care

4. Bolton Point (SIL)

  • Experience in Mental Health
  • Experience with full portable hoist lifter

5. Waratah (SIL)

  • Experience with ASD Level 3, high behaviours

Key Responsibilities

  • Support with daily living activities
  • Behaviour management and de-escalation techniques
  • Document incidents and progress notes
  • Collaborate with the care team for consistent support
  • Uphold professional boundaries and ethical standards

Active Overnight Key Responsibilities

  • Provide active overnight support to participants in accordance with their individual support plans, behaviour support plans, and risk assessments.
  • Conduct regular wellbeing checks throughout the shift to ensure participant safety and comfort.
  • Support participants with personal care tasks, including toileting, continence care, repositioning, and mobility assistance where required.
  • Administer and document medications in line with organisational policies and participant requirements.
  • Respond appropriately to incidents, emergencies, behavioural escalations, and participant support needs during the overnight period.
  • Complete detailed and accurate shift notes, progress notes, medication records, ABC data charts and incident reports before the conclusion of each shift.
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organised home environment, including completion of overnight household duties as required.
  • Follow all workplace health and safety (WHS) requirements, infection control procedures, and organisational policies.
  • Communicate effectively with participants, families, colleagues, on-call staff, and other stakeholders to ensure continuity of care.
  • Participate in handovers and ensure all relevant information is communicated to incoming staff.
  • Promote participant choice, dignity, independence, and inclusion in all aspects of support.
  • Identify and report risks, hazards, incidents, and changes in participant wellbeing promptly through the appropriate reporting systems.

Qualifications & Requirements

  • Minimum 2 years experience in disability support
  • Certificate III in Individual Support (or higher)
  • First Aid/CPR Certification
  • NDIS Worker Screening Clearance
  • Working With Children Check
  • Current NSW Driver’s License
  • Understanding of NDIS Practice Standards
  • Ability to commit to sleepover shifts
  • Experience with Manual Handling (full ceiling hoist lifter and/or pull portable hoist lifter)
  • Experience supporting individuals with an acquired brain injury
  • Experience with aged care and/or dementia care
  • Experience in Mental Health
