Our growing team of aviation specialists provides support to our clients in the areas of aerodrome design, project management and construction, maintenance, technical inspections and aerodrome surveys, operational readiness, airport security, training, regulatory compliance, audits, and ongoing daily operations.
About the role
AMS is seeking a motivated Finance & Accounting student to join our team for a paid Summer Internship. This is an exciting opportunity to gain hands-on experience and develop practical skills while working alongside experienced finance professionals in a dynamic and growing business supporting Australia’s aviation industry.
The internship program runs from 14 December 2026 to 12 February 2027, with flexible start dates and working arrangements available to accommodate study commitments and individual availability.
Working closely with the Finance Team, you will gain exposure to a broad range of accounting, financial administration and business support activities while contributing to the efficient operation of the finance function. Key responsibilities may include:
- Assisting with accounts payable and accounts receivable activities, including invoice processing and payment administration
- Supporting the recording, processing and reconciliation of financial transactions across the business
- Assisting with expense management, financial data entry and maintenance of financial records
- Contributing to the preparation of financial reports, schedules and management information
- Supporting budgeting, forecasting and project cost tracking activities through data collection and analysis
- Assisting with financial administration, document management and compliance activities to support audit requirements and internal controls
- Providing general finance and administrative support, including contributing to process improvement and automation initiatives
About You

- Currently enrolled in tertiary studies in Accounting, Finance, Commerce or a related discipline
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage competing priorities
- High attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy
- A sound understanding of basic accounting principles and financial practices
- Demonstrated ability to work with numerical data and maintain accurate records
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly in Microsoft Excel
- A proactive attitude and a willingness to learn
