The opportunity
Following internal promotions, we’re looking for a Junior Network Engineer who’s keen to learn, get hands-on, and grow into a Network Engineer role over time. You’ll be the first point of technical ownership for network related service tickets within our Network Solutions team. You’ll
provide hands on support across customer network environments, resolve issues
where possible, and escalate to senior engineers when required.
You’ll also support Network Engineers with project delivery and network changes, giving you exposure to real world engineering work while developing your skills in a supportive, structured environment.
This role is ideal for someone who enjoys problem solving, takes ownership of their work, and is keen to grow into a Network Engineer role over time.
What you’ll be doing
- Owning and resolving network related incidents and service requests
- Troubleshooting issues across switching, wireless, and connectivity environments
- Applying standard fixes, configurations, and approved network changes
- Escalating issues appropriately when outside scope or complexity
- Supporting network projects, changes, and implementation activities
- Maintaining accurate ticket notes, device records, and network documentation
- Working within SLAs and established processes
About you
You’re early in your networking career, curious by nature, and motivated to learn. You take pride in doing things properly, communicate clearly, and enjoy working as part of a team.
What you’ll ideally bring:
- Networking experience in a helpdesk or technical support role (around 3 years preferred)
- Experience owning tickets through to resolution
- Solid understanding of core networking concepts (IP addressing, switching, VLANs)
- Familiarity with Windows based environments
- Awareness of basic network security principles
- Some exposure to firewalls, wireless networks, or managed switches beneficial
- Experience with network monitoring tools or MSP ticketing platforms desirable
Why Join Advantage
You’ll be part of a supportive and collaborative team culture, with access to ongoing training, professional development, and clear career pathways. The role offers exposure to a wide range of technologies and client environments, providing opportunities to grow your technical capability while contributing to the success of the organisation and the people it supports.
