Get involved behind the scenes of an AFL Football Program.

The Adelaide Football Club is pleased to offer a Volunteer Football Analysis Experience within our Football Program during the 2026/27 AFL pre-season.

Exclusively available to current students and recent graduates of the Adelaide Crows Institute of Sports Business Diploma Program, this unique opportunity provides hands-on exposure to an elite AFL environment and insight into the day to day operations of a professional football department.

Participants will spend time alongside our Football Analysis team, observing and assisting with a range of football analysis and operational activities while developing a greater understanding of how analysis supports coaching, performance and decision-making within professional sport.

About the Opportunity

This volunteer experience provides an opportunity to gain exposure to the Football Analysis function throughout the AFL pre-season.

Participants will have the opportunity to spend time within the football department and observe how analysis, technology and football operations contribute to the preparation of an AFL team.

Working alongside analysts and football staff, participants may be involved in a variety of activities that provide insight into the role of analysis within an elite sporting environment.

  • Contribute to selected football department initiatives where appropriate
  • Gain exposure to the preparation and planning activities that support an AFL season

Training Environment Exposure

  • Support delivery of AFL training sessions and analysis processes
  • Gain experience with the equipment and technology used to capture training vision
  • Assist with general training-day activities under staff supervision
  • Learn how training vision is managed and utilised within the football program

Program Integration

  • Observe how football information is prepared and presented
  • Contribute to meeting preparation processes
  • Assist with the organisation of multimedia content and resources where appropriate
  • Learn how analysis supports coaches and players to improve performance

Football Analysis Skills

  • Gain an introduction to industry-standard analysis technologies, including Hudl Sportscode
  • Observe video coding and analysis workflows
  • Learn how analysts contribute to football preparation and performance review processes
  • Develop an understanding of the role of data and vision within an AFL environment

Commitment

To get the most from the experience, participants should ideally be available to attend football training sessions 2-3 times per week throughout the AFL pre-season, which typically equates to approximately 10-15 hours per week.

The football program’s Christmas break will run from 17 December 2026 to 6 January 2027, during which no attendance is expected.
