HEAVY DIESEL SERVICE TECHNICIAN

The Role:
You are a switched-on individual who has a passion for machines and fixing them. You’re a great communicator, manage your time well and have great problem-solving skills. Our service delivery is very important to us and our technicians play a vital part in this. This role is a full-time role Mon-Fri 7am till 4:30 pm, with overtime available and, if planned, work during Saturdays 7am till 12pm. About 70% of your time will be in the field on client sites and 30% in the workshop. You will also be paid incentive rates to attend after hours calls to the customers in your care.
You shall be doing a variety of technical tasks in this role, such as:
• Workshop major repairs and component rebuilds
• Pre-delivery inspections of new equipment
• All service and repair requirements to customers equipment
• Service, maintenance and repairs of hire fleet
• EWP servicing and repairs
• Maintenance and repair of a wide range of external customer forklifts
• Being on an on-call roster (compensated)
• Mentor and guide apprentices and those who are not graced with your level of technical skills!
Key skills and qualifications:
• A blend of electro-mechanical knowledge gained from; forklifts, EWP, agricultural, cranes or earthmoving equipment
• Hydraulic systems knowledge
• In depth auto electrical diagnosis skills and operation of diagnostic equipment skills are both required.
• Welding & fabrication experience would be an advantage
• Experience working on 24v – 48v Battery operated equipment
• Past experience gained in a technician role
• Trade qualifications would be looked at favourably
• Flexible and able to deal with how priorities change in the course of the day
• Willingness to cross train between EWP and Forklift brands
