Lead Projects Across South East Queensland
Abyss Demolition is a leading Queensland demolition and asbestos removal contractor delivering complex commercial, industrial and government projects throughout South East Queensland.
Due to continued growth, we are seeking an experienced Site Supervisor to oversee demolition and licensed asbestos removal projects while leading site teams to deliver safe, compliant and successful project outcomes.

About the Role
Reporting to the General Manager, you will be responsible for the day-to-day supervision and coordination of demolition and asbestos removal projects.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Supervising demolition and asbestos removal activities on site
- Coordinating labour, plant, subcontractors and materials
- Ensuring compliance with WHS legislation, asbestos regulations and company procedures
- Conducting site inductions, toolbox talks and pre-start meetings
- Monitoring project progress against programme and budgets
- Managing site documentation including SWMS, permits and daily reports
- Liaising with clients, consultants, regulators and project stakeholders
- Ensuring all works are completed safely, efficiently and to a high standard
- Identifying and resolving site issues proactively
- Maintaining strong safety and environmental performance across all projects
About You
To be successful in this role, you will possess:
- Minimum 3 years’ experience supervising demolition and/or asbestos removal projects
- Training qualification in
- CPCCDE3015 – Remove friable asbestos
- CPCCDE4008 – Supervise asbestos removal
- and/or hold the key demolition units required by WHSQ to be a nominated demolition supervisor
- Applicants must currently be listed with Workplace Health and Safety Queensland (WHSQ) as a Supervisor on a licensed Demolition Contractor and/or Asbestos Removal Contractor licence
Construction Industry White Card
- Strong leadership and communication skills
- Ability to manage multiple stakeholders and site teams
- Sound understanding of Queensland WHS legislation and asbestos removal requirements
- Experience completing site documentation and reporting requirements
- Current Driver Licence
Highly Regarded
- First Aid Certificate
- EWP, Working at Heights and Confined Space tickets
- HR, HC or MC Licence
- Experience working on government, education and commercial projects
- Currently listed as a supervisor on a NSW Demolition or Asbestos Removal Licence
