Key responsibilities include:
- Lead, manage, and oversee operations teams across multiple depot locations nationwide
- Drive the execution of 3 Islands’ strategy
- Executive management capabilities, coordination/day-to-day oversight of inland logistics operations teams nationwide, liaison with all logistics customers, reporting, strategy and business development
- Innovate and deliver, as part of the 3 Islands team, a first-class logistics proposition and customer experience through teams under your leadership
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders including Regional Managers (Ports Division), Support office and other intermodal operations to implement cost-effective, efficient solutions for customers
- Check and ensure all reports and finals produced within the operation are accurate
- Maintain health and safety, regulatory and compliance standards in all activities
About you:
- 15+ years in trucking and/or logistics operations (experience of warehousing, inland port operations and/or container terminal operations would be ideal), with strong leadership and team management experience gained in New Zealand
- Proven ability to undertake operations, lead teams, implement strategies and continuously self-improve
- IT-proficiency in systems/software and competent communication including verbal and written via all devices including radio, tablet and smartphone
- Deep understanding of NZ logistics landscape and the infrastructure challenges to deliver cost-effective solutions for customers
- Exceptional leadership, coaching, and mentoring skills with a demonstrated track record of success in the industry
