Description

Summary:

We are seeking a hands-on Company Accountant to manage the day-to-day accounting, bookkeeping, financial reporting, payroll and routine tax compliance for two related Philippine companies: AECDS and 12d Synergy OPC, with a combined workforce of approximately 24 employees.

This is an opportunity to take ownership of the day-to-day finance operations and help build and improve an in-house finance function. As transaction volumes are currently modest, the successful candidate will initially handle both accounting and bookkeeping activities, with the opportunity for the function to expand and additional support to be introduced as the businesses grow.

The role will work closely with management in the Philippines and Australia, as well as external auditors, tax advisers and corporate service providers, to ensure accurate financial records, timely reporting and compliance with applicable requirements.

Key Responsibilities

  • Maintain accurate accounting records for AECDS and 12d Synergy OPC, ensuring proper separation of the two legal entities.
  • Manage day-to-day bookkeeping, general ledger entries, accounts payable and receivable, and bank and balance sheet reconciliations.
  • Process payroll, statutory contributions, employee tax obligations and routine BIR tax filings.
  • Prepare monthly management accounts, cash flow reports and financial analysis to support management reporting and decision-making.
  • Maintain fixed asset registers, intercompany reconciliations and audit documentation.
  • Coordinate with external auditors, tax advisers and corporate service providers to support audit, tax and compliance requirements.
  • Improve accounting systems, internal controls and digital record-keeping processes to support efficient and accurate financial operations.
  • Work closely with management in the Philippines and Australia on financial reporting and other accounting requirements.
  • Be willing to accept appointment as Treasurer for one or more Philippine group companies, serving as the local point of contact between the Philippines and Australia. Strategic financial planning and forecasting will primarily be handled by the Australian team. The Treasurer appointment is included in the overall remuneration for the role.

About You

You’ll bring strong technical accounting knowledge, sound professional judgement and attention to detail, with the ability to work independently and take ownership of day-to-day finance operations while supporting management in the Philippines and Australia.

You should also have:

  • A degree in Accounting, Finance or a related discipline.
  • Approximately 4–6 years of practical accounting experience in the Philippines, or equivalent demonstrated capability.
  • Strong knowledge of Philippine accounting standards, BIR taxation and statutory compliance requirements.
  • Hands-on experience in bookkeeping, payroll processing, financial reporting and audit preparation.
  • At least 2 years of experience using accounting software such as Xero, QuickBooks or similar platforms.
  • High integrity, sound professional judgement and a strong sense of accountability when handling financial matters.
  • Willingness and eligibility to be considered for a potential Treasurer appointment for one or more Philippine group companies. This appointment forms part of the overall role and remuneration and is subject to formal corporate approval.
