Job Title: Senior Business Development Manager (Federal Government)

Job Purpose:

Identify, pursue and win new business opportunities within the Federal Government and other Government Agencies. This will include developing and maintaining strong strategic relationships with clients, while driving revenue and profit growth across the business.

Who You Are:

You are an experienced business development manager or account manager with extensive experience working within Federal Government Departments at the C level. You will preferably have experience in the IT sector, selling hardware, software or managed services. Leading the overall client engagement, you will thrive working autonomously as well as part of a broader team. Revenue Growth: Consistently drive revenue growth through new business acquisitions, market expansions, and client retention.
Strategic Partnerships: Developing and nurturing strategic partnerships with clients, stakeholders, and industry players.
Cross-Functional Relationships: Developing relationships with key stakeholders with prospects and our clients, including CIO, CISO, Sustainability Manager and Strategic Procurement.
New Business Generation: Identify and secure new business opportunities that align with the company's objectives and growth strategies, including active participation in government and industry forums and events.
Deal Closure Rate: Effectively managing the sales cycle and demonstrating a high rate of successful deal closures, converting leads into profitable contracts.
Client Satisfaction and Retention: Ensuring high levels of client satisfaction through tailored solutions, excellent service delivery, and maintaining strong client relationships, leading to repeat business and referrals.
Employment Opportunities: Your success directly results in employment opportunities for Indigenous youth.
Utilising CRM & Technology: Ensuring the CRM is used to maximise efficiency, including ensuring the system is current and contains all relevant information.

Qualifications:

Minimum of 6 years of experience in business development or account management, within the Federal Government sector, preferably in a senior sales role and;
Proven track record of achieving sales targets and driving profitable revenue growth.

Experience, knowledge and skills:

Preferably ICT experience selling hardware, software or managed services to C level stakeholders
Strong communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills
Tender Responses – Success in submitting and winning tenders via formal Government Procurement Processes
Understanding of the Information Security Framework including PSPF and ISM
Energetic self-starter with the experience, strategic thinking and people skills to grow our Federal Government business
Proficiency using CRM software
