At Wheatbelt NRM, you’ll be part of a passionate, practical team working with communities, landholders and partners to create meaningful outcomes for the Wheatbelt.
The Wheatbelt is rich in natural assets that support a vibrant community, it consists of a fragmented yet highly valuable biodiversity area and is home to a vast and productive agricultural industry.
As a community-led not-for-profit organisation, Wheatbelt NRM’s role is to support community management of the region’s natural resources, optimsing outcomes for its people, the environment and the industries that depend on functional landscapes to thrive.
Life at Wheatbelt NRM is varied, practical and very Wheatbelt. On any given day, our project teams might be out in the field working with landholders, monitoring biodiversity or collecting data, then back in the office analysing results and keeping projects moving. Behind them is a busy corporate team keeping the wheels turning across finance, HR, marketing and administration. Our Aboriginal NRM team works on Country, delivering fee-for-service projects that create meaningful employment opportunities for First Nations people while caring for Country. We’re a small team, so people pitch in, share ideas and work across different areas when needed. There’s plenty of independence, plenty of collaboration and rarely two days that look exactly the same.
At Wheatbelt NR, we believe in supporting our employees both personally and professionally with a range of benefits that help them thrive, including:
We believe in compensating our employees fairly for their hard work and dedication. Our salaries are competitive and reflective of industry standards, with annual salary increases built into our employment contracts to help keep pace with inflation.
We understand that everyone has different needs and responsibilities outside of work. That’s why we offer flexible scheduling options and work from home arrangements for many of our positions.
We believe in looking after the physical and mental wellbeing of our people. Our employees have access to confidential Employee Assistance Program (EAP) services, as well as a paid 15-minute activity break each day to step away from the desk, get outside, go for a walk or simply take some time to reset.
