To make this vision a reality, we are seeking a dynamic Events Manager & Host to plan, manage, and host our events.

About the Role

The Events Manager & Host will be responsible for end-to-end event planning and execution, ensuring high-quality, engaging experiences that strengthen SBM’s reputation and drive business opportunities. This role requires a confident presenter who can host events while our team of experts focus on delivering content.

Responsibilities

Event Planning & Strategy

Develop and manage an annual event calendar aligned with SBM’s business goals.
Define event formats, topics, and target audience to maximise attendance and engagement.
Secure venues, suppliers, and necessary event logistics within allocated budgets.

Marketing & Promotion

Work with SBM’s marketing team to create promotional campaigns (EDMs, paid ads, social media, partnerships).
Develop event branding, messaging, and materials to enhance audience engagement.
Manage event sign-ups, RSVPs, and attendee communications.

Event Hosting & Execution

Act as the face of the event, delivering introductions, moderating Q&A sessions, and keeping energy high.
Ensure smooth event execution, coordinating speakers, timing, and audience interactions.
Troubleshoot issues on event day to maintain a seamless experience.

Post-Event Engagement & Lead Nurturing

Manage follow-ups, including thank-you emails, post-event surveys, and content recaps.
Work with the sales team to identify and nurture leads generated from events.
Track event performance and provide insights for continuous improvement.

Ideal Candidate Profile

Experience in Event Management & Hosting:

Proven track record in planning and executing business or corporate events.
Comfortable hosting and moderating events with a confident stage presence.

Marketing & Business Acumen:

Strong understanding of business and marketing trends to align events with SBM’s audience.
Ability to collaborate with marketing teams to drive event attendance and engagement.

Project Management & Communication Skills:

Exceptional written, verbal & organisational skills with attention to detail.
Strong ability to manage timelines, budgets, and multiple stakeholders.

Tech-Savvy & Adaptable:

Familiarity with event tech (e.g., registration platforms, live streaming).
Ability to adapt and problem-solve in high-pressure situations.
