About the Role

Private Emergency Health Australia (PEHA) is seeking a reliable, detail-oriented Medical Administrative Assistant to provide on-site administrative support to our Emergency Department at the Mater Private Hospital. This part-time position supports the day-to-day operations of the Mater Private Emergency Care Centre (MECC), working closely with the Practice Manager and clinical team. The role is between 25-30 hours per week with flexibility in start and finish times.

Key Responsibilities

* Provide front-line administrative support to ensure the efficient operation of the MECC

* Manage Medicare and WorkCover billing processes

* Process invoices and follow up on outstanding payments

* Assist with practice financial reporting and data capture

* Support the MECC Practice Manager with a range of administrative tasks

* Liaise with Mater Hospital administrative staff

* Provide onsite assistance to PEHA doctors, including orientation and onboarding for new staff

About You

* Completion of Year 12 or equivalent; relevant admin or healthcare qualifications are a plus

* Previous experience in an administrative role, preferably in a healthcare setting

* Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint)

* Excellent written and verbal communication skills

* Strong organisation, time management, and multitasking skills

* High level of discretion and professionalism when handling confidential information
