When our founder, Dean Jefferson, watched his partner navigate life after a spinal cord injury, he saw how hard it was to find care that felt genuinely human. Workers changed constantly. Communication broke down. The people meant to help often didn’t really know the person in front of them.
Im With You was started in 2023 to do it differently. Today we support adults across Australia to live the lives they choose, with a team that knows them, listens to them, and stays.
What the work looks like
One of the people we support, a man living with a spinal cord injury, kept his distance from new support workers when he first joined us. It would have been easy to keep rotating staff until something stuck. Instead, our team stayed steady, kept him safe behind the scenes, and let trust build at his pace.
Now he welcomes joint training shifts, gives feedback on the workers who support him, and is planning a trip to see his mother. None of that happened through pressure. It happened because a team showed up, consistently, and treated him as the expert in his own life.
That’s the work we do every day. Much of it is complex: people living with psychosocial disability, physical disability, intellectual disability and autism, often more than one at once. It asks a lot of you, and it matters enormously.
At VivaGo, we believe in supporting our employees both personally and professionally with a range of benefits that help them thrive, including:
We believe in compensating our employees fairly for their hard work and dedication. Our salaries are competitive and reflective of industry standards. We employ under multiple awards based upon your qualification
We understand that everyone has different needs and responsibilities outside of work. That’s why we offer flexible scheduling options and work from home arrangements for many of our positions.
We believe in taking care of our employees’ physical and mental health. That’s why we offer comprehensive health insurance, as well as wellness programs and resources to help our team members stay healthy and happy.
We believe that you are able to use your other skills or to work towards your dreams and we support where possible career advancement
Real fit, not just a roster. We match support workers with the people they support based on genuine compatibility. You’ll build ongoing relationships rather than being sent somewhere new every shift.
Clinical backing when you need it. Our clinical oversight is led by registered nurses, so you’re never left to work through a complex situation alone.
A trauma-informed way of working. Everyone starts with trauma-informed onboarding, and that thinking shapes how we treat our team as well as the people we support.
Training that keeps you growing. You’ll have access to our online learning platform from day one, with courses built for the work you actually do. Your goals, development and performance conversations live in Employment Hero, so your growth is visible and supported.
Being noticed for what you do. Through our Moments That Matter recognition program, we celebrate the small, important things that make a difference in someone’s day.
Fair, clear employment. We follow the SCHADS Award and the Nurses Award, put agreements in writing, and keep our processes consistent so you always know where you stand.
