In this dynamic position, you’ll provide essential support across Human Resources and Work Health & Safety, ensuring employees and managers are empowered, supported, and set up for success. From recruitment and onboarding to return-to-work coordination and safety compliance, you’ll help drive the employee experience and contribute to our culture of care, compassion, and excellence.
Reporting directly to the Head of People & Culture, this role is a great opportunity to be involved in meaningful people initiatives that support employee wellbeing and enhance the overall employee experience.
It is a part-time position (30.4 hours per week); either 4 days or shorter hours over 5 days. We’re open to flexible work arrangements, including hybrid working as well as flexibility in start/finish times and the days worked.

Key Responsibilities

People & Culture (HR) Support

Support the Head of People & Culture in responding to manager and employee enquiries by providing advice and assistance on employment conditions, policies, procedures, awards, and agreements.
Manage the full employment lifecycle, including recruitment, job postings, interview scheduling, and reference checks onboarding, changes to employment, and offboarding.
Coordinate and support payroll processing (KeyPay), which will soon go to an outsourced provider including preparing and reviewing payroll data, ensuring timely and accurate submissions, and helping resolve discrepancies.
Prepare employment documentation, including contracts, variation letters, and other employee communications.
Coordinate and manage employee records and employment data within the HRIS (Employment Hero), ensuring accuracy, compliance, and confidentiality.
Help implement People & Culture initiatives that support employee engagement, wellbeing, and a positive workplace culture
Assist with HR reporting and monthly workforce metrics.
Contribute to improving workflows and enhancing the employee experience through system optimisation and process improvements.

Workplace Safety, Injury Management & Workers Compensation

Coordinate and monitor workplace injury notifications and maintain up-to-date records.
Act as the Return-to-Work Coordinator, liaising with employees, managers, medical practitioners, and insurers to develop and monitor tailored RTW plans.
Ensure compliance with workplace health and safety (WHS) legislation, including supporting the Head of People & Culture with WHS reporting and consultation processes.
Maintain workers compensation records and manage claims in line with internal procedures and legal requirements.
Contribute to a safe and supportive work environment by promoting safety awareness and assisting with injury prevention and wellbeing initiatives.
Assist with the coordination of WHS audits, inspections, and risk assessments to ensure a proactive approach to workplace safety.
Maintain the incident and hazard reporting system, ensuring all entries are accurately logged, followed up, and closed out in a timely manner.
Coordinate WHS training and induction sessions, ensuring staff are informed of their responsibilities and safety procedures.
Support the WHS Committee by preparing meeting agendas, taking minutes, and tracking action items.
Help ensure site-specific safety documentation is up to date, including SWMS (Safe Work Method Statements), risk registers, and emergency procedures.
Monitor compliance with mandatory safety reporting requirements and escalate risks or trends to the Head of People & Culture.

External: Insurers, medical providers, rehab consultants, recruitment and payroll service providers

Selection Criteria

Essential:

• Qualifications in Human Resources, WHS, Business Administration, or a related field
• Experience in a HR support or coordination role
• Familiarity with relevant employment, WHS and Worker Compensation legislation
• Strong organisational skills and high attention to detail
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and build positive working relationships
• Proficient in Microsoft Office and HRIS/ Payroll systems (preference Employment Hero) and payroll systems (preferably Key Pay)
