We are a Sydney-based practice shaping the way people live, work, and play through architecture, urban design, and interiors. With over six decades of experience, AJC has delivered some of Australia’s most innovative, celebrated, and sustainable environments across education, sport, housing, community, and urban design.
We are a team of architects, designers, urban thinkers and business professionals driven by ideas and innovation. Every project is a unique response to its purpose, context, client, and site—no two are the same.
AJC has earned recognition at local, national, and international levels, with a distinguished history of industry accolades. Notably, it remains the only Australian practice to be awarded a Silver Medal by the International Olympic Committee at the IOC/IAKS Awards (2013), for the Milson Island Sport Stadium in Brooklyn, NSW.

AJC’s story is one of people—visionaries, collaborators, and community builders—who have shaped Sydney’s urban landscape with creativity, care, and conviction.
From its founding in 1956 by friends John Allen and Russell Jack, later joined by Keith Cottier, AJC has always been more than an architectural studio. It’s a collective of individuals who believe that great design begins with empathy and ends with impact. Today, that spirit lives on in a diverse team working across education, commercial, residential, and master planning projects—each one driven by a shared commitment to excellence and purpose.
Our people are our greatest asset. We are a culture described by our team as friendly, supportive, and collaborative.
