Now is an exciting time to join Umwelt and be an integral part of the journey, as we expand the Water Services group, which includes integrated groundwater and surface water technical services. Umwelt is looking to appoint a Hydrogeologist to join either our Newcastle or Brisbane team, as we continue to grow and expand our Water Services group.

About the Role:

As a Hydrogeologist, you will play a crucial role in supporting the Water Services group to complete technical groundwater/surface water tasks to support client deliverables. This position is responsible for delivering sound technical work and is expected to assist technical leads, principals and managers on projects.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Undertake fieldwork, including water sampling, bore installation support and hydraulic testing
  • Review, analyse and interpret groundwater data to a sound quality to contribute to the preparation of high-quality reports and deliverables
  • Follow QMS procedures and project management requirements, understand the project scope, budget, and timeframe to ensure project success
  • Contribute to the preparation of high-quality reports/deliverables
  • Utilise relevant groundwater software for pumping/slug test analysis, water quality analysis and bore logs and utilise visualisation and GIS software

About You:

  • Degree qualifications in Hydrogeology, Engineering, Geology, Environmental Science, or a related field
  • Preferred experience in water/environmental consulting
  • Preferred experience in groundwater fieldwork and associated inductions
  • Experience in hydrogeology field programs preferred, including drilling and bore installation
  • Familiarity with safe working procedures and First aid training
  • Sound data analysis and investigation skills
  • Knowledge and experience within hydrogeology technical field
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present complex information clearly and concisely
  • Proven ability to work collaboratively as part of a team in a fast-paced consulting environment
  • Enjoy working in a fast-paced environment and finding innovative solutions to technical challenges
  • Enjoy working independently and with a team
