  • General Manager – Hospitality
  • The Sim Club | Northampton, NN4
£45,000–£50,000 + performance bonus | Full-time, permanent
  • Build the team. Set the standards. Open the doors.
  • The Sim Club is a new hospitality-led social venue opening in Northampton. It will bring together eight premium golf simulator bays, social darts and games, all built around a proper bar, good food and excellent service.
  • This is not a traditional golf club or sports bar. We are creating a modern clubhouse: somewhere people meet friends, eat, drink, play and entertain clients, whether they play golf or not.
  • We are looking for a General Manager – Hospitality to join the founding team ahead of opening and take responsibility for the hospitality side of the business.
  • The role
  • You’ll work directly with the founders and alongside our General Manager – Golf, Membership & Entertainment.
  • The two General Managers will work side by side. One will lead golf, memberships and entertainment, while you will lead the bar, food, kitchen, front of house and hospitality team.
  • As a pre-opening hire, you’ll help us recruit and train the opening team, put the right systems and procedures in place, work with suppliers and establish the service standards for the club.
  • Once open, you’ll be responsible for the day-to-day hospitality operation.
  • Key responsibilities
  • * Leading the bar and front-of-house operation
  • * Overseeing food service, the kitchen and Kitchen Supervisor
  • * Recruiting, training and developing the hospitality team
  • * Staff rotas and labour planning
  • * Stock control, ordering, suppliers and F&B margins
  • * Food hygiene, licensing and relevant compliance
  • * Maintaining high service standards throughout the club
  • * Supporting private events, corporate bookings and member functions
  • * Managing the hospitality operation day to day
  • This is a hands-on role. We want someone who enjoys being on the floor, leading their team and getting involved when the club is busy.
  • About you
  • You may already be a General Manager, or you could be a strong Deputy, Assistant General Manager or Operations Manager ready for your next step.
  • You don’t need any golf experience.
  • We’re looking for someone with:
  • * Strong hospitality management experience
  • * Experience leading and developing a team
  • * Good food and beverage knowledge
  • * A sound understanding of labour, stock and margins
  • * High standards and attention to detail
  • * Good communication and people skills
  • * A calm, practical approach when things get busy
  • Above all, we’re looking for someone who cares about hospitality, people and creating a good working culture.
  • What we offer
  • * £45,000–£50,000, depending on experience
  • * Performance-related bonus
  • * Full-time, permanent position
  • * The opportunity to recruit and build your own hospitality team
  • * A genuine say in how the operation is set up
  • * Direct support from the founders
  • * Staff benefits and club access
  • * Training and development
  • * The opportunity to join the business before opening and grow with it
  • The Sim Club will operate seven days a week from 10am to 10pm, so the role will include evenings and weekends as part of the management rota.
  • If you’re looking for the chance to help build a new venue from the ground up rather than simply take over an existing operation, we’d like to hear from you.
