Job title: Residential site capture technician
Full-time, Monday-Friday
Location: Surrounding areas of major London airport (central base near Hounslow)
Due to the expansion of a major airport noise mitigation programme, we are looking to recruit a Site Data Capture Technician to join our growing Geomatics team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to begin or develop a career in surveying, geomatics, and spatial data capture.
The role will primarily involve undertaking measured surveys of residential properties using modern laser scanning technology. You will be responsible for visiting properties, capturing accurate survey data using handheld laser scanners, and processing that information into point cloud datasets. Using this data, you will produce accurate 2D measured survey drawings and plans in Autodesk AutoCAD to support the wider project delivery team.
A large portion of your time will be spent undertaking site visits across the project area, working directly with homeowners and residents. As such, successful candidates will be comfortable working independently, have strong communication skills, and be capable of representing the business professionally while on site.
Whilst the primary focus of the role is supporting the airport noise mitigation scheme, we are committed to developing our staff and providing a pathway into the wider geomatics profession. Alongside your project responsibilities, you will receive training and exposure to a range of surveying and measured building techniques, including laser scanning, reality capture, data processing, and CAD production. You will have opportunities to work alongside experienced surveyors, gain hands-on experience with industry-leading technology, and develop both your technical and professional skills.
For candidates who demonstrate commitment and aptitude, there will be opportunities to progress within the geomatics team and become involved in a wider range of projects both within the UK and internationally. We are currently involved in similar programmes overseas, providing opportunities for travel and broader project experience.
