Trainee/Deputy Racing Manager

Star Pelaw is looking for a dedicated Deputy or Trainee Deputy Racing Manager to join our established team at our Greyhound track. In this pivotal role, you’ll help drive our daily operations, ensuring smooth racing, a great atmosphere for our customers and strong support for our team.

Responsibilities:

• Grading races and trials alongside the Racing Manager, in accordance with the GBGB rules of racing.

• Helping to run a busy racing office on a day-to-day basis.

• Inputting race and trial cards into the racing office system.

• Completing and processing Greyhound registrations and transfers.

• Supporting the racing manager in running both race and trial meetings, in accordance with the GBGB rules of racing and with consideration of the Animal Welfare Act.

• Liaising with trainers, owners, vets and other staff to ensure race meetings are professionally covered.

• Any other reasonable tasks as requested by senior management.

While experience in Greyhound racing or a racing office is a definite bonus, it isn’t essential, comprehensive training will be provided for the right applicant Join us in creating memorable experiences for our guests while leading a passionate team dedicated to excellence.

Salary: Will vary dependant on experience

Job Type: Full-time

The role would be 40 hours over 5 days weekly and would include race meetings and weekends.
