Description

Hello!

My name is Harry. I am a 33 year old man, looking for a brand-new support team to support me in my own home.

I have a Learning Disability, Autism, ADHD and PDA.

I’m kind, caring, thoughtful and I have a brilliant sense of humour. I love to laugh and have a funny side, so it’s really important to me that the people supporting me enjoy having a laugh too. The best relationships for me are built on trust, honesty, consistency and having fun together.

I’m very perceptive and I notice the little things. I really value people who are genuine, keep their word and take the time to build trust with me. Trust doesn’t happen overnight, but once we’ve built it, it means everything to me.

When I want to relax, I like spending time with my dog, Worzel. I also love watching horse racing and football on TV. I also enjoy watching films. I’m a big football fan and support both Chester and Everton, so if you enjoy chatting about football or watching a match, we’ll probably get on well!

I have lots of aspirations for my future. I’d really like to get back to using my hot tub with my new support team. I want to spend time outdoors and I’d also like to go on more holidays.

I want a support team who will encourage me, motivate me and help me build my confidence at my own pace so I can achieve the things that matter to me.

Sometimes, because of my past experiences, I can become anxious, lose confidence and spend a lot of time overthinking situations. If I become overwhelmed, I can struggle to regulate my emotions and this can sometimes lead to behaviour that challenges. During these times, I need people who stay calm, patient and reassuring, helping me to feel safe without adding pressure or becoming confrontational.

I much prefer quiet, calm and safe environments. Busy places, sensory overload or situations that feel unpredictable can be difficult for me, so having support workers who understand this and can help me feel secure is really important.

I’m looking for support workers who are:

• Kind, caring and genuine

• Calm, patient and reassuring

• Honest and consistent

• Creative and encouraging

• Confident enough to motivate me without putting pressure on me

• Fun, with a great sense of humour

• Committed to building a trusting, long-term relationship with me

One thing that’s really important to know about me is that I really don’t like the smell of smoke, so I’m looking for a non-smoking support team.

I’m excited about building a new support team, but I’m also naturally a little nervous. If you think you’re someone who can help me feel safe, make me laugh, encourage me to achieve my goals and support me to live the life I want, I’d love to meet you.
