Summary:
We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled Kitchen Assistant to join our team at St Cecilia’s Primary School 25 hours per week 9am -2pm Mon – Fri on a term time only basis (38 working weeks +5.6 weeks paid holiday =43.6 weeks paid equally over 12 monthly payments) . The Kitchen Assistant will be responsible for assisting the Kitchen Manager and Kitchen staff in ,serving, preparing desserts and baking, maintaining a clean and organised kitchen, and ensuring that all food safety and sanitation standards are met. The ideal candidate will have a passion for cooking, some Catering experience and excellent communication skills, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities:
- Assist the Kitchen Manager and kitchen staff in preparing meals and desserts
- Clean and sanitise kitchen equipment, utensils, and work areas
- Assist with stock management and ordering supplies
- Follow all food safety and sanitation guidelines
- Maintain a clean and organised kitchen
- Assist with food preparation
- Assist with dishwashing and cleaning duties as needed
- Perform other duties as assigned by the kitchen manager
Qualifications:
- Catering Qualification
- Previous experience working in a kitchen preferred
