Residential Children’s Support Worker

Location: Preston, North West

Salary: £15:00 per hour

Hours: Shift-based (including evenings, weekends & sleep-ins)

Contract: Permanent

About the Role

We are looking for compassionate, resilient, and motivated Residential Children’s Support Workers to join our team supporting children and young people in a residential care setting.

You’ll play a vital role in creating a safe, nurturing, and structured environment, helping young people build confidence, stability, and positive futures.

Key Responsibilities

Provide day-to-day care and emotional support to children and young people

Promote independence, positive behaviour, and healthy routines

Build trusting, professional relationships with young people

Support with education, activities, appointments, and daily living

Implement care plans and risk assessments

Maintain accurate records and reports

Work as part of a supportive, multidisciplinary team

What We’re Looking For

A genuine passion for working with children and young people

Resilience, patience, and strong communication skills

Ability to remain calm and supportive in challenging situations

Experience in residential childcare is desirable but not essential

Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare (or willingness to work towards it)

A full UK driving licence (preferred, if applicable)
