About the business

Independent used car dealership based in Oxford. We prepare and retail quality used vehicles. We are expanding stock and need a reliable in-house mechanic to manage vehicle preparation and repairs.

Role overview

You will inspect, diagnose, service, and repair vehicles before sale. You will ensure every car meets a high retail and safety standard. You will work as a group and also take ownership of workshop jobs.

Key responsibilities

Carry out full vehicle health checks

Diagnose mechanical and electrical faults

Complete servicing and general repairs

Replace clutches, timing belts, brakes, suspension parts

Prepare vehicles for MOT

Liaise with management regarding parts and job progress

Keep accurate service records

Maintain a clean and organised workshop

Requirements

Proven experience as a vehicle technician or mechanic

Strong fault-finding and diagnostic ability

Confident working on engines, gearboxes, suspension, and electrical systems

Full UK driving licence

Own tools essential

MOT tester licence preferred, not essential
