  • Independent used car dealership based in Oxford. We prepare and retail quality used vehicles. We are expanding stock and need a reliable in-house mechanic to manage vehicle preparation and repairs.
  • Role overview
  • You will inspect, diagnose, service, and repair vehicles before sale. You will ensure every car meets a high retail and safety standard. You will work as a group and also take ownership of workshop jobs.
  • Key responsibilities
  • Carry out full vehicle health checks
  • Diagnose mechanical and electrical faults
  • Complete servicing and general repairs
  • Replace clutches, timing belts, brakes, suspension parts
  • Prepare vehicles for MOT
  • Liaise with management regarding parts and job progress
  • Keep accurate service records
  • Maintain a clean and organised workshop
  • Requirements
  • Proven experience as a vehicle technician or mechanic
  • Strong fault-finding and diagnostic ability
  • Confident working on engines, gearboxes, suspension, and electrical systems
  • Full UK driving licence
  • Own tools essential
  • MOT tester licence preferred, not essential
