Operational Solutions Limited (OSL) is a leading provider of Counter-Unmanned Aerial Systems (CUAS), delivering advanced security solutions to civilian and military clients.

We are looking for a skilled and motivated Simulator Technician to join our growing team and support the delivery, operation and maintenance of our specialist simulation capabilities.

Key job requirements and responsibilities: 

• Carry out planned and preventative maintenance programmes for the Mk6 Chinook Simulator to maximise availability and minimise disruption to the simulator flying programme.
• Carry out corrective maintenance and technical fault finding as required, ensuring faults are diagnosed and rectified efficiently and the training device is ready for use.
• Carry out software changes and updates as directed by LMUS or LMUK software engineers and Lead Technicians.
• Maintain professional and effective communication with team members, instructors, crews and customers.
• Be aware of and support daily activities and maintenance priorities around the simulator flying programme.
• Ensure all maintenance activities, fault repairs and associated paperwork are accurately completed, checked and documented as required.
• Use the inventory management database to control, order and replenish parts and spares, ensuring stock movements and holdings are accurately recorded and tracked.
• Comply with all applicable Safety and Security policies and procedures and promptly communicate to the Lead Technician any issue or concern that may affect the team, simulator serviceability or training delivery

Additional Requirements: 

• Ability to meet the eligibility criteria required to obtain and maintain Security Check (SC) clearance, in line with UK government security vetting standards.  
• The role operates on a rotating AM/PM shift pattern, Monday to Friday. Flexibility is required to work across both early and late shifts to support operational requirements.
• Legal right to work in the United Kingdom. 

Qualifications / skills and experience  

• A general qualification or relevant experience in Engineering / Electronics, or Maths and Science A-Levels or equivalent.
• Demonstrates a practical and analytical aptitude for engineering fault finding and fault diagnosis.
• Good communication skills with team members, instructors, crews and customers.
• A flexible and practical approach to tasks, with the ability to respond to changing maintenance priorities.
• An understanding of working within a military environment.
• A willingness to learn, develop technical knowledge and investigate new technologies and systems bespoke to the Mk6 Simulator.
• Good practical workshop skills, including soldering, system assembly and other relevant hands-on engineering activities.
• Basic knowledge of hydraulic systems desirable.
• Strong IT skills, including at least a basic understanding of networking, Linux and Windows servers, with the ability to apply these during fault finding and diagnosis.
• A basic understanding of military avionics and electronics. Flight simulation knowledge or experience would be an advantage but not a necessity.
