We are seeking an experienced, passionate and motivated individual to join us as our Proposed Registered Manager, playing a key role in supporting our Care Inspectorate registration and helping establish a high-quality Care at Home service from the ground up.
About this opportunity
This appointment is conditional upon Niamz Companions obtaining registration with the Care Inspectorate as a Care at Home provider.
The successful candidate will be appointed as the Proposed Registered Manager and will support the organisation throughout the registration process.
Phase 1 – Pre-Registration
Until Care Inspectorate registration is granted, this appointment will be on a variable-hours, as-required basis. There are no guaranteed hours of work during this phase.
As required, you may be invited to:
- Participate in the Care Inspectorate Fit Person Interview and other registration-related meetings.
- Review and contribute to policies, procedures and operational systems.
- Provide professional advice to support service development and regulatory compliance.
- Support preparations for the mobilisation and launch of the Care at Home service.
Any work undertaken during this phase will be agreed in advance and paid in accordance with the agreed terms of engagement.
Phase 2 – Post-Registration (Permanent Appointment)
Upon Niamz Companions being granted Care Inspectorate registration, the successful candidate will be offered a permanent, full-time appointment as Registered Manager.
Salary, working hours and employment benefits will be discussed and agreed prior to commencement.
Key Responsibilities
Duties include, but are not limited to:
- Support Niamz Companions through the final stages of the Care Inspectorate registration process.
- Lead the Care at Home service as Registered Manager following registration.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant legislation, Care Inspectorate requirements and the Health and Social Care Standards.
- Work alongside the Director to mobilise the service and support planned growth across Glasgow, Lanarkshire and surrounding areas.
- Develop, implement and review policies, procedures, quality assurance systems and governance frameworks.
- Oversee assessments, care planning, risk assessments and care reviews.
- Recruit, induct, supervise and develop staff in line with Safer Recruitment Through Better Recruitment guidance.
- Manage workforce planning, staff rotas and operational systems.
- Promote a culture of continuous improvement, person-centred care and positive outcomes.
- Build effective relationships with people using the service, families, professionals and partner agencies.
Essential Requirements
Applicants must be able to demonstrate:
- An SVQ in Social Services and Healthcare at SCQF Level 9 (or an equivalent recognised practice qualification).
- An SVQ in Care Services Leadership and Management at SCQF Level 10 (or an equivalent recognised management qualification).
- Current registration with, or eligibility for registration with, the Scottish Social Services Council (SSSC) as a Manager of a Care at Home service.
- Membership of the Disclosure Scotland PVG Scheme (or willingness to obtain membership before appointment).
- Significant experience within domiciliary, community or social care services.
- Strong leadership, communication and organisational skills.
- A sound understanding of Scottish social care legislation, Care Inspectorate requirements and the Health and Social Care Standards.
- A commitment to delivering safe, compassionate and person-centred care.
