We are looking for a reliable and professional Driver / Equipment Delivery Operative to join our team. In this safety-critical role, you will be responsible for the delivery and collection of small tools, machinery and lifting equipment, ensuring all activities are completed safely, efficiently, and to schedule.
You will play a key part in maintaining excellent customer service while ensuring compliance with all safety and transport procedures.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate commercial vehicles up to 3.5 tonnes
- Deliver and collect equipment
- Plan delivery schedules and routes in collaboration with the transport team
- Ensure all loads are secured safely in line with safe systems of work
- Complete delivery documentation and update handheld/PDA systems
- Deliver equipment safely while respecting customer property
- Handle customer queries or issues professionally at delivery points
- Carry out daily vehicle checks and report defects promptly
- Maintain vehicle cleanliness and condition
- Drive safely in accordance with the Highway Code and driver regulations
- Monitor and report any mechanical or safety issues
- Report all incidents and accidents in line with company procedures
- Follow all PPE and health & safety requirements at all times
Skills & Experience
Essential
- Full UK driving licence
- Previous experience in a similar driving or delivery role
- Strong awareness of health & safety standards
- Good organisational and time management skills
- Ability to work independently and manage routes effectively
- Basic IT skills (handheld devices/PDA systems)
Desirable
- PAV qualification
- Experience handling plant or access equipment (training will be provided)
