Description

Roofer (Flat Roofing) – Commercial Maintenance & Projects

Bristol & South-West · £38,000–£42,000 · Company van & fuel card · Permanent, full-time a steady mix of liquid roofing, repairs and planned re-roofs with a South-West contractor that does the work with its own people. 55 in-house engineers, our own vans and kit, and a five-year roofing contract just renewed. We back our people with proper training, real benefits and the autonomy to get on and do the job right.

The role

You’ll run flat roofing work across mainly commercial buildings — liquid systems first (Polyroof, Westwood, Sika), plus repairs and maintenance across all roof types. Depending on the job, that includes:

  • Applying liquid roofing systems — GRP, PU and PMMA — to a waterproof, durable finish
  • Installing and repairing flat roofs; tiled, slate and metal repairs as needed
  • Inspecting and diagnosing roof faults and putting the right fix in place
  • Planned re-roofs and maintenance programmes on commercial sites
  • Reactive repairs, including out-of-hours call-outs
  • Working to our RAMS, permits and safety rules every time

Hours: Monday–Friday, plus a paid on-call rota and optional weekend/night work at time and a half (1.5×). Some lone working, covered by the rota.

What you’ll need

  • Minimum 3 years’ roofing experience, with real expertise in liquid or other flat roofing systems
  • NVQ Level 2 in Roofing (or equivalent)
  • Full, current UK driving licence with 2+ years’ driving experience (you’ll take a company van home)
  • Happy to complete a licence check, qualifications check and basic DBS disclosure

Nice to have: manufacturer approvals (Polyroof, Westwood Wecryl, Sika), IPAF/PASMA, and your own hand tools (power tools provided).

What we offer

  • £38,000–£42,000 plus company van and fuel card
  • Paid holiday plus bank holidays
  • On-call rota with a standby payment on top of hours worked
  • Overtime at 1.5×: call-outs paid per hours worked; planned weekend work paid at a guaranteed minimum of 10 hours
  • Tool allowance (and power tools provided where needed)
  • Funded training and certifications to help you progress
  • Company pension and Cycle to Work scheme
  • Employment Hero benefits — remote GP, mental-health support and financial wellbeing tools for you and your family
  • Two company social days a year
