Summary:

We are seeking a skilled Estimator to join our dynamic team in the building and construction industry in Perth, Scotland. The Estimator will play a crucial role in ensuring accurate project cost assessments, contributing to the successful delivery of projects while maintaining our commitment to quality and client satisfaction. Responsibilities:

  • Prepare detailed cost estimates for construction projects based on drawings, specifications, and other relevant documents.
  • Conduct site visits to assess project requirements and gather necessary information for accurate estimations.
  • Collaborate with project managers, architects, and subcontractors to ensure all aspects of the project are considered in the estimation process.
  • Analyse labour, material, and overhead costs to provide comprehensive and competitive bids.
  • Maintain and update a database of costs and pricing for materials and services to ensure accuracy in future estimates.
  • Review and assess subcontractor bids and proposals to ensure compliance with project specifications.
  • Prepare and present detailed reports and documentation for management review.
  • Assist in the negotiation of contracts and agreements with clients and subcontractors.

Qualifications:

  • A degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or a related field.
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in estimating within the building and construction industry.
  • Proficient in using estimating software and tools, with strong numerical and analytical skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with team members and stakeholders.
  • Strong attention to detail and the ability to work under pressure to meet deadlines.
  • Knowledge of current building regulations and standards in the UK.
