Hours: 42.75 hours per week (predominantly Mon – Fri with the requirement to be flexible over 7 days).

The Role:

We are now looking to recruit an experienced ELV Supervisor to join our team at our Erith site.

The ELV Supervisor is responsible for the day-to-day operational management of End-of-Life Vehicle (ELV) activities within their designated site. The role ensures the safe, compliant, and efficient processing of ELV vehicles, delivery of operational targets, adherence to Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), and development of site personnel.

The ELV Supervisor will act as the local operational lead, supporting the Area ELV Lead in driving performance, compliance, and continuous improvement across the business.

Key Responsibilities

● Lead and coordinate all daily ELV operations within the site.

● Ensure ELV vehicles are processed safely, efficiently, and in accordance with company procedures.

● Deliver daily, weekly, and monthly production targets.

● Monitor vehicle throughput, depollution rates, and material recovery performance.

● Ensure ELV rigs, compressors, and associated equipment are maintained and operating effectively.

● Manage vehicle movements and yard organisation to maximise efficiency.

● Ensure full compliance with environmental agency permits, waste regulations, and ELV legislation.

● Maintain compliance with all health, safety, and environmental policies.

● Conduct regular safety inspections and risk assessments.

● Supervise and support ELV operatives and yard teams.

● Conduct daily briefings and toolbox talks.

● Provide coaching, training, and development to team members.

● Assist with recruitment, onboarding, and performance management activities.

● Promote a positive, accountable, and high-performance culture.

The Ideal Candidate

We are looking for someone who:

● Previous experience within ELV, recycling, automotive salvage, waste management, or related sectors.

● Strong operational supervision experience.

● Good understanding of health, safety, and environmental compliance.

● Ability to manage teams and drive performance.

● Strong organisational and communication skills.

● ELV Authorised Treatment Facility (ATF) experience.

● Environmental permit and compliance knowledge.

● IOSH or equivalent safety qualification.

● Mechanical or vehicle dismantling knowledge.
