Description

Quantity Surveyor with experience working on gas utility projects required to join a leading utility services organisation. As a Quantity Surveyor, you will be responsible for managing the financial aspects of various projects under a framework contract, ensuring cost efficiency and adherence to NEC contracts.

Responsibilities:

– Manage and oversee all financial aspects of assigned projects within the gas utilities sector.

– Prepare accurate cost estimates, budgets and tender submissions for projects.

– Prepare commercial contract administration, such as monthly valuations, cost value reconciliation etc.

– Monitor project costs throughout its lifecycle, identifying any potential variances or deviations.

– Conduct regular site visits to assess progress and ensure compliance with contract specifications.

– Collaborate closely with project managers and other stakeholders to address any financial issues or concerns that may arise during construction.

– Evaluate subcontractor invoices and manage payment processes accordingly.

– Prepare comprehensive reports on project finances, including cost forecasting, cash flow analysis, and profitability assessments.

– Provide advice on commercial risks associated with projects and suggest strategies for risk mitigation.

Skills:

– Strong knowledge of quantity surveying principles within the gas utilities sector.

– Experience using Cost Control Systems, such as EVision is required.

– Proficient in working with NEC contracts; ability to interpret contract documents accurately is essential.

– Excellent numerical skills with high attention to detail; capable of accurately estimating costs and conducting financial analyses.

– Strong organizational skills; able to manage multiple projects simultaneously while meeting deadlines consistently.

– Effective communication skills both verbal and written; able to collaborate effectively with various stakeholders including clients, contractors, suppliers, etc.
