Yard Person

Summary:

We are seeking a dedicated Yard Person to join our team in Huddersfield, England. This permanent, full-time position is essential for maintaining the efficiency and organisation of our yard operations within the plant hire industry. The Yard Person will play a crucial role in ensuring that machines and equipment are properly handled and stored, contributing to the overall success of our business.

Responsibilities:

• Assist in the loading and unloading of machines and equipment from vehicles.
• Organise and maintain the yard area to ensure a safe and efficient working environment.
• Conduct regular inventory checks and report any discrepancies.
• Ensure that all tools, machinery and equipment are stored correctly and are in good working condition.
• Support the delivery team by preparing materials for dispatch.
• Follow health and safety regulations to maintain a safe working environment.

Qualifications:

• No formal education required; however, GCSEs in Maths and English are advantageous.
• Previous experience in a yard or warehouse environment is preferred but not essential.
• Ability to work effectively as part of a team and independently.
• Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
• Basic understanding of health and safety regulations.
• Willingness to learn and adapt to new tasks.
